As the cold weather sets in and football tailgates are in full swing—we can announce that the fledgling holiday travel season has begun. During these last few months of the year we find ourselves, wrestling schedules, making travel plans, loading up the cars, hopping on flights and all to land ourselves in the laps of friends & family’s kitchens/living rooms/spare bedrooms for those overnighters, long weekends and full blown de fact move-ins.
Nearly as important as rehearsing your clandestine hand & arm signals with your partner, for use at the in-laws dinner table, is being prepared for the time away from home with the right collection of life saving distractions, activity correct outfits and enough accessory charges to power a Tesla. Being able to go for that run—to just get out of the house or flip on the tablet to live stream the football game is all dependent on you remembering those running shoes and the right charger.
Most important is making sure you have a weekender bag that sets you up for success when packing away all those loose odds and ends. You’ll want a weekender bag that’s versatile, functional and just plain looks good. It should be as flexible to work at the old college roommate’s places as it at the on the company off-site — an appropriate blending of function and fashion.

Razor / Shaving Soap
Pro Tip 1: Unpack as soon as possible if you are staying over night. This will jog your memory of everything you packed, and realize what you have (and don’t) so you won’t find yourself in a scramble the next morning. Plus, it lets everything air out.
Pro Tip 2: Get smart with your packing. Make a list and take a picture of your bag contents before you pack everything away with a note taker like Evernote. That way you don’t have to wonder about whether or not you brought the extra IPhone charger and find yourself plunking down an extra $30 at an airport kiosk.
