Two calendars – work and home, yep. Three email accounts – spam catcher, work and the hotmail account from high school, got ‘em all.
Yea, it’s easy to find yourself using technology solutions bundled up for specific sections of your life—and it’s alright we get it. In a lot of ways, it makes sense—bleeding information from one to another can at times be problematic but more often it’s just easier to keep things separate. After-all, sending the boss an email with your kids pics during work hours (instead of your wife) is not always the best move.
The same applies to packing & carrying solutions. These days we are all on the move, more than ever, and along with us comes a trail of electronics, chargers, gym clothes, presentation drafts and every now and again a bite to eat. We need ways of keeping all those mission critical pieces separate and comfortably in-tact. When sorting through internal pouches you want to keep a couple of things in mind,
- Size matters: make sure that the accessory pouch you are using is the right fit for the job, there is nothing worse than finding out your new pouch doesn’t have room for the new bluetooth speakers you just bought. Or is too small for that iPad Mini. Tip: Buying a pouch that has flexibility designed into is a great way of making sure you will be able to find multiple uses for it.
- Complement don’t replace the every day carry bag: It’s important to know what bag you are using for your everyday carry—the big bag. If it has a great spot for a side pocket for a water bottle and dry pouch for gym clothes then you’ll want to fill in the gaps. Tip: Chargers, additional batteries and headphones need a place to live—if not you’ll find them wrapped up in a birds nest.
- Make sure they look good: it’d be easy to find yourself picking the hyped-up over built, triple water proof bag that looks like a trash bag sealed with electrical bag just because it is water proof in a level 5 hurricane. Tip: think about how your accessory will be used and where it will live. Never compromise on function just make sure it looks good.
